Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Stayground, a service operated by Technology Foundry (“Stayground,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and mobile applications (together, the “Service”). Stayground connects schools that make their facilities available with instructors who book and rent those facilities for private sessions. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who uses Stayground
The Service is intended for adults: school administrators and instructors. The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and people under 18 do not create accounts on the Service.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — your name, email address, phone number, password (stored in encrypted form), and your role (school administrator or instructor).
- School information — for school administrators: the school’s name, code, address, type, facilities, availability, pricing, and related details.
- Instructor profile information — for instructors: professional details such as areas of specialisation, a short biography, and any documents or certifications submitted for a school’s review.
- Booking information — facility rentals, schedules, payments, ratings, and related records you create while using the Service.
- Communications — emails we send (such as invitations and account notifications) and messages you send to us.
- Technical and usage information — basic device and app information, log data, and signals such as when you first open the mobile app, used to operate and improve the Service.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and verify your identity at login.
- To provide the core features of the Service — linking instructors to schools, managing instructor profiles, and handling facility bookings and payments.
- To send you essential communications, such as invitations, confirmations, and account-related notices.
- To maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Service.
- To understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Service:
- Between the parties to a booking — for example, an instructor’s profile and submitted documents are visible to the school administrators reviewing their booking, and relevant booking details are shared between the school and the instructor involved in a facility rental.
- With service providers who help us run the Service under contract, including our cloud hosting and backend providers, our authentication provider, and our email-delivery provider. These providers process data only on our behalf and in line with this policy.
- For legal reasons — if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
- In a business transfer — if Stayground is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Data storage and security
Your information is stored on secure cloud infrastructure operated by our service providers, which is located outside Egypt, including in the United States (our database and hosting providers, Convex and Vercel). We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and encrypted password storage, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information after account closure where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
7. Your rights and choices
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or ask us to close your account, by contacting us at the email below. We will respond in accordance with applicable law. You can also stop using the Service and uninstall the app at any time.
You may also withdraw any consent you have previously given at any time (this does not affect processing already carried out), and you may lodge a complaint with the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Centre.
8. International data transfers
Stayground operates primarily in Egypt and the wider MENA region, but your personal data is processed and stored on servers located outside Egypt, including in the United States, by our service providers (such as Convex and Vercel).
Transferring personal data outside Egypt is a “cross-border transfer” under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020). To protect your information when it leaves Egypt, we rely on (a) your explicit consent, given when you sign up, and (b) data-processing agreements with our providers that require them to protect your data to a comparable standard. We are also working to obtain any authorisations required under Egyptian law for these transfers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be communicated to you directly. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
